The Story Behind the Mission

Mahendra Soni grew up in Bhilwara, a small town in Rajasthan where big dreams often felt impossibly far away. But distance has a way of sharpening vision. What he saw clearly, even then, was that education could be the bridge between where you start and where you deserve to go.

In 2016, with more determination than capital, Mahendra founded Take2 Technologies. The early years were focused on providing IT services. As time passed there was a shift towards Moodle LMS services - building learning platforms, customising solutions, and helping educational institutions bring their courses online. He and his team became experts in every facet of the Moodle ecosystem, working closely with universities, NGOs, and corporate training departments across the world.

But as online education expanded, Mahendra began witnessing a troubling pattern. Institutions were embracing digital learning, yet they struggled with a fundamental question: How do we ensure exam integrity in a virtual environment? The lack of reliable, accessible proctoring solutions meant that many organisations either compromised on assessment quality or avoided online exams altogether. Students in remote areas were being held back not by lack of ability, but by lack of trust in the system.

This wasn’t just a technical gap. It was a barrier to educational equity.

ProctorLink
Our Purpose

Why we built ProctorLink

The need was clear: online education needed a proctoring solution that was fair, accessible, and trustworthy. But most existing tools were expensive, overly invasive, or required infrastructure that many institutions simply didn’t have. Mahendra realised that his years of working deep in EdTech had given him unique insights into what educators and students actually needed.

In 2021, leveraging more than a decade of EdTech experience and knowledge of learning management systems, the Take2 team began developing ProctorLink. The vision was ambitious but grounded in reality: create AI-powered proctoring that maintains exam integrity without compromising student dignity, that scales to serve thousands of students, and integrates seamlessly into the platforms educators already use.

ProctorLink was built on three core principles

Accessibility

Every student regardless of location deserves a fair chance to demonstrate their knowledge.

Fairness

Technology should protect integrity without presuming guilt, supporting honest students while deterring dishonest behaviour.

Trust

Online education can only fulfil its promise when assessments are credible, transparent, and respected by all stakeholders.

Our Journey

2021-2022

Building the Foundation

We have developed our initial prototype, creating the core AI-based proctoring capabilities that would define ProctorLink. Through countless iterations and real-world testing, we refined algorithms that could detect suspicious behaviour patterns while respecting student privacy.

2023

Official Launch

ProctorLink was officially introduced at Moodle Moot 2023, marking our entry into the global EdTech community. The response validated what we knew: educators everywhere were searching for proctoring solutions they could trust.

2023-2024

Expanding Capabilities

We introduced Live Proctoring, giving institutions the flexibility to combine AI monitoring with human oversight for high-stakes assessments.

2025

Product Offerings

Today, ProctorLink serves diverse needs through two stable versions: ProctorLink Standard (available via subscription or credit-based pricing for maximum flexibility) and ProctorLink Lite (one-time license). We've processed over 1 million+ exam sessions for 200+ institutions, supporting students across the world.
